LIFE SAVINGS INSURANCE

Life Savings Insurance is one of the most valuable, free-to-members, services we provide to our members.

Subject to certain terms and conditions, cover is provided on members’ credit union shares and deposits, up to a maximum of €7,700.00 in total. In the case of a Joint Account, it is the life of the first named only on the account that is insured.

Once earned, the cover remains in place for as long as the member leaves his or her savings in Cashel Credit Union.

The level of cover the member’s account earns depends upon the age the member is at the time he or she saves the money.

Up to a maximum of €7,700.00, and subject to terms and conditions, for every €1.00 the member saves and retains with us, we provide the following level of life cover FREE to you:-

Up to Member’s 55th Birthday for every €1.00 saved by the member, we add €1.00 worth of cover;

Between Member’s 55th and 60th Birthday, for every €1.00 saved by the member, we add €0.75 worth of cover.

Between Member’s 60thth and 65th Birthday, for every €1.00 saved by the member, we add €0.50 worth of cover.

Between Member’s 65th and 70th Birthday, for every €1.00 saved by the member, we add €0.25 worth of cover.

Members wishing to maximise their Life Savings Cover should take careful note of the age bands and save accordingly.

As well as earning the best return on savings, members can build up very substantial free insurance cover that will benefit the member’s nominee or next of kin.

LOAN PROTECTION INSURANCE

Loan Protection Insurance is another valuable, free-to-members, services we provide to you, our member.

Subject to certain terms and conditions, loan protection cover against death or permanent and total disablement is provided free-to-members on credit union loan balances for the scheduled duration of the loan.

In Cashel Credit Union, subject to underwriting terms and conditions, as laid down by our insurers, we insure loans that are scheduled to be completed before the member’s 80th birthday.

In the case of Joint Accounts, it is only the member whose signature appears first on the Credit Agreement that can be insured.

When taking out a loan, a member should take special care to discuss the Loan Protection Cover with the staff member.

We want our members to be able to borrow without fear of passing on your Credit Union debt to their next of estate in the event of a fatal accident or death through natural causes, disease or other means.

Cashel Credit Union provides FREE-TO-MEMBERS Loan Protection Insurance Cover because of our People, Not Profit ethos.

REPAYMENT PROTECTION INSURANCE:

This is a competitively priced insurance by which members can protect their loan repayments against illness or loss of earnings in certain circumstances.
